FRIGHT NIGHT Exclusive Sneak Peek

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

FRIGHT NIGHT, starring Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin, doesn't open until August 13 but CineMovie got an exclusive 3D preview of the remake.
Afterwards, we sat down with Craig, Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin for interviews which we will post when the official FRIGHT NIGHT trailer is released on May 13 on IGN.com.
Scene 1: Jerry Tries To Trick Charley Into Inviting Him In

Jerry (Colin Farrell) comes over to Charley's (Anton Yelchin) house on the pretense that he needs beer for his hot date. Charley obliges but keeps him standing outside the back door. As Charley gathers together enough beer for a six-pack, Jerry uses his charm to coax Charley into inviting him in but when that doesn't work, Jerry makes sexual references about his mother and his girlfriend Amy.

Colin Farrell as Jerry exudes sexiness but behind those dark eyes is a dangerous side, much like Chris Sarandon's portrayal in the first film. Anton is very different from the original Charley character in that he tries to act macho but you sense the fear in him. The chemistry between the two actors make the cat and mouse relationship work.

Colin Farrell Says Total Recall Remake Won't Re-Adapt Philip K. Dick

Earlier today I had the opportunity to sit in with Farrell as part of a roundtable interview and brought up the subject of the Total Recall remake, which is set to start up production in a few weeks. I started by asking about his relationship, which he quickly professed his love for.
I met Len [Wiseman], I saw some of the artistic renderings of what he's going to do with that world and it's amazing! I mean, who knows what a film is from its conception to its full realization, so many factors involved. You always go in with hope and with expectation. I just know what he's going to do as far as creating that world. And it's great."
"There's literally stuff to be done with that same story. And it's not, and I read some blurb it's going back to the original short story. No it's not! It's Kafka, the original short story, I mean it was Philip K. Dick, but it was so dark and it was such a kind of omnipresent sense of power and corruption, and that plays into ours as well, but it's not nearly as dark as the original. But it's good stuff. It's good stuff. So I'm going to start that in a couple weeks."More

Kate Beckinsale Offered 'Total Recall' Role

Thursday, April 21, 2011

Kate Beckinsale has been offered one of the female lead roles alongside Colin Farrell in the Sony Pictures remake Total Recall.I'm told she's been offered to play Lori, who was portrayed in the 1990 Paul Verhoeven-directed actioner by Sharon Stone.
I've heard that Eva Mendes and Rosario Dawson are the serious contenders for the latter role. Beckinsale wasn't among the names most often mentioned among actresses who read for Lori.More

Jessica Biel in talks for TOTAL RECALL Remake

Friday, April 8, 2011

The Len Wiseman-directed remake / new version of Total Recall already has Colin Farrell as the lead character, and Bryan Cranston as the antagonist. We know there are two big female roles to cast, Lori, the main character’s wife, and Melina, whom he encounters as the story goes on.
We know that a long list of actresses has been in contention for two parts in the new version that roughly correspond to their counterparts in the previous film. Now it looks like Jessica Biel will land one of the two parts.Variety says that Jessica Biel is circling one of the two roles, but has no intel on which. (She originally read for Melina, but there is some indication she may play Lori instead.)
Total Recall shoots soon in Toronto; the film is already scheduled to open on August 3, 2012.More
