CBS Films Move 'Seven Psychopaths' Up To October 12th

Friday, August 3, 2012

The good news is that we're a little closer to seeing Martin McDonagh's "Seven Psychopaths," his follow up to the excellent "In Bruges." The film, which stars Colin Farrell, Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell as a trio of friends who become the target of a psychotic gangster (Woody Harrelson), will premiere as part of the Midnight Madness section at TIFF next month, but wasn't set for release until November 2nd, and even then only as part of a limited roll-out. But now, CBS has moved the film up nearly a whole month, and it'll open wide on October 12th, opposite Ben Affleck's "Argo" and Kevin James' vehicle "Here Comes The Boom." More

Kate Beckinsale Praises 'Amazing' Colin Farrell

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

Kate Beckinsale and Colin Farrell team up in the futuristic action-packed Total Recall, and although the two maintain a complex and occasionally violent relationship in the film, Beckinsale praised Farrell with a plethora of flattering adjectives. "He is probably the nicest person in the whole world," Beckinsale admired. "He's incredibly professional; he's brilliant at all the physical stuff; he's an amazing actor; he's on time; he pleases the female crew by walking around with pajama bottoms and his shirt off; he's a brilliant dad...I can't say enough good things about him. I loved him."More

Men's Health UK September 2012

With his new movie "Total Recall" set to hit theaters on August 3rd, Colin Farrell garnered himself a little added exposure by covering the September 2012 issue of Men's Health UK magazine. The 36-year-old big screen stud looked handsome in a t-shirt, jeans and boots from Allsaints Spitalfields for the James White shot front page while dishing about everything from his clean lifestyle to what he has planned for the future. On being an action hero: "I didn't think I'd go back to action again. I was doing things that were a bit more... cerebral. But I feel good. I mean, I'm tired - you can get very weak, and you get kind of banged about. You wind up having a s**tload of fun, but after four months I'm beat." On being a man remade: "I live a clean lifestyle. OK, so I don't put the same level of energy into healthy living as I did into unhealthy living. I put an enormous amount of energy into the destruction of my body and if I put the same amount into treating my body in a positive way, that too would end up being a sickness. But I eat really well, drink loads of green tea, and take a s**tload of vitamins. I want to live for as long as f**king possible now. I have two boys that I want to see grow up." On his ambitions: "I honestly, I just want to have fun. I know that's grossly broad and unspecific. I mean, yeah, I want to make good films. I don't want to rip people off and have them paying $15 to see a film, and then come out of the film and go 'well, that was s**t'. I don't want to be in those films, I really don't. And I want to be as decent and supportive of a dad and friend as I can be, and to travel the world like I used to with my mind, but now with my body. I want to be inspired by what I'm able to do. Because I'm a lucky b**stard."

Tuesday, June 19, 2012

Looks like Colin Farrell is going from kicking ass in the future to a family-friendly Disney drama. Total Recall May Get A Sequel

Thursday, June 14, 2012

Screen Rant is reporting that the upcoming Total Recall remake may find itself with a sequel, granted audiences respond well to it. While speaking to producers Neal Moritz and Toby Jaffe during a recent set visit, Screen Rant asked whether the film is set to launch a franchise. Moritz and Jaffe wouldn’t give a definite answer but they did say that they’d be open to doing it and if audiences enjoy the film then a sequel or sequels, may very well become a reality. When asked if there is potential to continue the story, here’s the answer that they gave. Toby: We hope so. Neal: We hope so. We never set out to make a movie that has a sequel. Anytime we’ve maybe tried to do that, it hasn’t necessarily worked and luckily, during the Fast and Furious movies and a lot of other movies we’ve made, we’ve made a lot of sequels, and my feeling is that if the audience likes it, we’ll make a sequel. So, I mean, we’d like to. It’s a great world to be in. It’s fun. Plus when you make a sequel, audiences already know the characters, so it’s a lot easier to get a movie going. Having not seen the film yet, it’s hard to comment whether a sequel would work or not but that being said, I’ve really enjoyed all the footage that has been shown from the film thus far.Judging from the trailer and the images that we’ve seen, I love the dark and gritty future that director Len Wiseman has created. Mixed with his stylized and fast paced action, I think we’re going to get a very thrilling film. The effects and set pieces look great as well. Personally, I’m hoping that things work out for this remake and if they do, I’d be more than happy to see a sequel.Source

TOTAL RECALL SET

Colin Farrell is holding a futuristic black gun that fires energy rather than bullets. He’s standing behind a sliding white door inside a capsule that travels through the center of the Earth. Inside the room he’s trying to enter, armed Federal soldiers are guarding a valuable prisoner: Melina (Jessica Biel), one of the leaders of the underground resistance, and she’s trying to get rid of Vilos Cohaagen (the leader of the United Federation of Britain, who’s being played by Bryan Cranston). An assistant director calls action, the door slides open and Farrell comes barreling in, firing his weapon and killing three soldiers. After freeing Biel, Farrell explains that Cohaagen is lying and he’s not with him. As he pleads with her, it’s clear Biel is not sure what to believe, but she eventually embraces him with watery eyes. After a long kiss, they race out of the capsule and someone calls cut.More

Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel TOTAL RECALL Interview

Last summer, on the set of the Total Recall remake, I was able to participate in a group interview with Colin Farrell (Doug Quaid/Hauser) and Jessica Biel (Melina). Even though both had been filming part of an extended action sequence for a number of hours, they came in with big smiles and gave us a lot of time. During the interview they talked about filming the remake, the big action scenes, the violence and physicality of the film, if they wanted to include anything from the original, the futuristic gadgets they get to play with, and a lot more.MORE

‘Total Recall’ Interview: Toby Jaffe & Neal Moritz

During the production of Total Recall, I drove down to Toronto’s Pinewood Studios to spend a full day with the cast and crew of the remake based on the classic Philip K. Dick short story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale.” While on set, I spent some time in the trailer of producers Toby Jaffe and Neal Moritz who shared details on the motivation and ideas behind the upcoming re-imagining of Total Recall, differences between it and the original, and much, much more. Colin Farrell Offered Lead in Akiva Goldsman’s,WINTER’S TALE

Thursday, April 26, 2012

Colin Farrell has been offered the male lead in Akiva Goldsman’s directorial debut, Winter’s Tale. The female lead is set with Jessica Brown Findlay playing a dying young woman who falls in love with a thief who breaks into her West Side Manhattan mansion. Farrell, if he takes the role in the Warner Bros. picture, would play the thief in this supernatural drama that occurs both in the 19th century and in contemporary times. Winter’s Tale, based on the 1983 novel by Mark Helprin, also stars Russell Crowe and Will Smith in supporting roles. Shooting is set to begin in New York on October 15th. Hit the jump to see who else could fill the role if Farrell opts out. Variety reports that Farrell has yet to enter negotiations for the role which could prevent him from landing the part; apparently, Farrell is seeking a sizable paycheck due in part to his summer release reboot Total Recall, which is reportedly picking up steam.More

Seven Psychopath Release Dates

Thursday, March 15, 2012

As far as I’m concerned, this story is all about Seven Psychopaths. Martin McDonagh‘s follow-up to one of 2008′s best (In Bruges) has a to-die-for lineup — Colin Farrell, Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell, and Christopher Walken — a promising logline (one which involves dog-kidnapping), and a reportedly terrific script. In other words, there’s plenty reason we had this so high on our most anticipated of 2012 list.
Now, BoxOfficeMojo reports that CBS Films will open the comedy on November 2nd — in what appears to be a limited capacity, though one I fully expect to widen in subsequent weeks. Now we know when to mark the calendars; Seven Psychopaths could easily prove to be one of 2012′s brightest offerings. I dare say it this early!Source

Colin Farrell In Talks To Star In ARTHUR & LANCELOT

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

For a while there it looked like Arthur & Lancelot was destined to linger in development hell for the next several years. Warner Bros. put the project in motion last year with David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers, The Change-Up) set to direct his own script.
Variety reports that Arthur & Lancelot is now back on with Colin Farrell in talks to star. The report doesn’t specify which role he will take, but WB seems to be happy with a more recognizable star in place. They were apparently wary of two lesser known actors toplining the film, so it looks as though they’re going the star route as both Harington and Kinnaman dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. Farrell’s casting is a bit of a surprise; a number of young actors vied for the two leads culminating in multiple screen tests and chemistry reads.More

First Look At Colin Farrell In Seven Psychopaths

Friday, February 10, 2012

Post-production is reportedly underway on Seven Psychopaths, which CBS Films is eying for a Fall 2012 release. Today, we have the first official stills from the film, along with some additional plot and character details that offer an early look at McDonagh’s pulpy yet satirical examination of the writing process.
Seven Psychopaths reunites McDonagh with his In Bruges leading man, Colin Farrell. This time, Farrell is playing a Hollywood screenwriter not-so-coincidentally named Marty, who finds himself struggling for inspiration while writing a script titled… Seven Psychopaths. Farrell’s character intentionally sets out to encounter “bizarre personalities” to serve as the basis for his screenplay, but has little to no luck with the task, despite the support of his girlfriend Kaya (Bright Star‘s Abbie Cornish) and best friend/unemployed actor, Billy (Sam Rockwell).MORE

Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace to Film Mob Movie in Philly

Tuesday, February 7, 2012

This afternoon, the Greater Philadelphia Film Office confirmed that Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace are heading to Philadelphia soon for the filming of Dead Man Down. It’s a New York-set mob movie, directed by Niels Arden Oplev, who previously worked with Rapace on the original Swedish adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. This will mark both Farrell and Rapace’s debuts on the streets of Philadelphia, though it’s not the first time that our city has been used as a substitute for New York, with The Best and the Brightest, Limitless, and upcoming Jason Statham vehicle Safe all shot here but set in Manhattan.Source

Kate Beckinsale says she felt sorry for Colin Farrell during their sex scene

The actress revealed that there was some awkwardness when it came to filming sex scenes, admitting: 'I think it was worse for Colin [Farrell]. It’s awkward if you have to fondle the director’s wife. Especially with Len saying, "all right that’s it, you’re fired.”
She is clearly fond of her co-star however, as she added: 'He’s lovely. He’s such a good actor, really professional and a brilliant dad. There’s nothing bad you can say about Colin – and he’s funny as well. I hate him!
Kate plays the wife of Colin Farrell's character, a factory worker who suffers from strange violent dreams.Source
